A Series, Circa 1998
Very Good Condition with box and papers. It even has the rare A series black outer carton/sleeve.
DESCRIPTION:
This is a preowned vintage A series Luminor Base watch and was manufactured in 1998. The PAM 10 or PAM00010 was one of the first Panerai models made for regular production. Archives show 1000 "Pre-A" were made in the year 1997, 1000 units in the A series in the year 1998, 1500 units in the year 1999, 1500 units in the year 2000, and lastly 1200 in the year 2001. The Pre-A and A series were given tritium painted hands and markers on the dial. Tritium hands and dials are the most coveted models of Panerai collectors. One reason is that they no longer use tritium, the color has a cream color relative to the newer luminous green color and can often be seen at deeper depths when diving.
The stainless-steel case measures 44mm in diameter and has the patented Panerai locking crown. As a base model, often referred to as a tool watch, the functions of the watch are for minutes and hours only. When it comes to Panerai collecting, less is revered as more. The bright white dial and contrasting black numbers and hand tone is great looking. The PAM 10 uses a durable hand wound ETA mechanical movement with an approximate 42-hour power reserve. It does not have its original A series straps and buckle. But this specimen does come on a rare like new Dirk tan calf strap with a sewn in logo buckle created in the early 2000's. It also comes with a second OEM Panerai black calf strap and a polished OEM Panera thumbnail style steel buckle. As a collector you will appreciate the A series box, A series black outer carton sleeve, 2 movement stickers, Manual, Libretto (guarantee booklet) and warranty card.
This watch is wearable, collectible and affordable!
