Excellent Condition with box, blue outer carton, papers, tag, brass screwdriver & 3 Pre Vendom straps.
DESCRIPTION:
This Pre Vendom Panerai Base model logo timepiece is considered one of the grails watches of this brand. Created before Richemont became the owner of the brand, this model was made in a run of 840 units in 1993. You will notice the dial has numbers and markers that appear orange and do not match the color of the cream-colored hands. To my understanding, the first ones assembled received a protective varnish which made the white/cream color to turn orange over a short period of time. When Panerai realized this "flaw", they stopped using the varnish. I believe less than 50 of these non-matching models exist (although I have heard it was in the 20's). Due to the rarity of this dial, the watch has become incredibly collectible! The provenance of this watch is also excellent. It has belonged to 3 different collectors that are well respected collectors of this brand of watch. So, I know it has been taken well care of for approximately the last 12 years.
