Thanks for considering Watches 24 Seven to help sell your watch! Here's some information on our program.
Watch auction houses keep about 25% of the "hammer" or sale price. We ask to keep less than half of that amount with a commission rate of 12% of the sale price. If you have purchased from Watches 24 Seven before, we will discount our commission to 10%. We don't charge for photography (like the $600 fee the auction houses charge) and we post your watch regularly on 4 or 5 different sites. Including our own and ebay. We will only put your watch up on ebay after we try the free sites first, because they keep a commission of about 3% on the sale price, which also will come out of what you receive after the sale. If there are posting, insured shipping or paypal fee's, these will also be deducted from the amount of the sale price that you will receive, but these are usually minimal and don't always occur.
It is mandatory that we receive your watch, box and paperwork. These are needed for photography. Also, we are asked questions by watch collectors and often need the paperwork and watch so that we can answer them quickly and correctly. We often get very detailed questions about case size, dial color or condition and many others that we can only answer with the watch in our possession. Your watch will be stored in a safe deposit box at a local bank, and is insured while being stored.
We don't give out sensitive serial numbers, authorized dealer names or individual names on paperwork. All numbers are edited out of the pictures as well.
We can research the value together and set a price. We will not accept a selling price less than a pre determined sale price we set prior to posting.
In other words (and only as an example), if we determine your watch should sell for $10k, We may post it for $10.8. It is rare to get the posted price, so we need to leave some negotiating room. Hopefully it will sell for $10k or more. But if it doesn't, and If someone offers us $9,500 (We will of course try to persuade them to pay $10k, but if they won't), we will not accept their offer without your permission.
We do not ship watches to buyers unless we are paid first. We will pay you when the new owner receives the watch and advises us that they are satisfied with their purchase.
