Authentic World War II Vintage Straps for Panerai and other Military Watches!
Every year Kevin and I complete one project that will enhance our own watch collections...and hopefully yours! This year we have made some spectacular straps for Panerai watches and other Military watches out of authentic WWII leather. We were able to get our hands on French and Swiss WWII Ammo Pouches! The leather is thick, rich, supple, well preserved and has a true authentic look and feel. This leather is appoximately 60 years old and has tons of character! We treat the leather with our own blend of various oils and waxes to accentuate the character of the hide and preserve the longevity of your strap.
We have made thick Pre Vendome style buckles out of aircraft quality steel. These are sewn into the strap that we cut and stich by hand ourselves, right here in the US. Each strap takes many hours to complete! The leather is thick and very hard to work with.
Here is a note from Kevin: Every strap will be totally hand stitched and measured in width and length for the Military watch collector! I use a single piece of thread, starting on one side, and stitched with 2 needles through each hole, back and forth around the edges, to the other side. My hand stitching creates straight lines (that you won't find in straps made by a sewing machine) and stitches will be more durable and less likely to frey!
The buckles are hand finished, which take about an hour each, I pay special attention to the details no one else thinks about... like the keepers being individually sized. I'm not sure if you noticed, but because of where the keepers are placed in the strap, the fixed one only wraps around 2 layers of leather, plus the long side, but the floating one, has to wrap around ALL the layers, (including the long side) therefore it has to be lightly larger, (maybe 1, to 1.5 milimeter). Most guys make all the keepers the same size, that's why the floating one almost ALWAYS does just that! This doesn't include the time I will take to treat and match leather, pick hides with the most character, measure and cut the hides. I am confident everyone will be happy with the craftsmanship and the end product!

As you may have guessed, our leather is in short supply. We work on this project in our spare time, so the quantity of straps is also very limited. All straps are made specifically to your specification of sizing. Most straps are long to emmulate the authenticity of the original Panerai straps. However, the straps have extra holes so that they fit on smaller wrist. All straps have two keepers that will keep the long end of the strap attached to the opposite end of the strap. This will give the strap a vintage and meaty appearence. These are very comfortable!
22/22 for a 40 mm Panerai watch 23/24 for a 46 mm IWC Big Pilot watch 24/24 for a 44 mm Panerai watch, 26/26 or 27/26 for a 45 or 47 mm Panerai watches
Because these are vintage in nature, we recommend you add 15 mm to the long end of the strap and 5 to the buckle side to maintain authenticity.
Colors and Grains will Vary! Wrinkles and Cosmetic Blemishes in the hide add character.
Kevin has done a magnificent job in creating these authentic straps! You can wear one of these in place of your true Vintage, Pre Vendome or A series strap and protect the collectibility of the "original" equipment that came with your watch. Of course it would be great to wear a piece of history on any of your Panerai or military watches!
I sent a strap to a Panerai collector that has a fine Vintage collection. He called me and said, please tell Kevin that he has created a "Work of ART!"

If you know the circumferance of your wrist, please give us that information too. 4) Let us know if you prefer light, medium or darker colored hides. 5) Tell us if you want white stitching, beige stitching or No stitching. We recommend beige stitching on all Panerai watches and white stitching on Big Pilot watches. If you prefer something different, let us know. 6) Tell us if you prefer no buckle, a polished buckle or brushed buckle.
